Google Assistant Is About to Vanish From Your Phone
Remember when saying “Hey Google” was enough to set an alarm, call someone, play music, or ask a quick question? That familiar voice assistant is now approaching its final goodbye on Android phones. Google has confirmed that Google Assistant will begin disappearing from Android phones and tablets from September 4, 2026, as the company completes its transition to Gemini. The rollout is expected to take several weeks, meaning users may not all lose access on the same day.
